Eagle Nest II is a timeless classic, a true masterpiece of maritime design Ed Monk and expertly crafted by the renowned team at McQueen Boat Works in 1972. This 77ft vessel is the epitome of elegance, with impeccable attention to detail in every corner, showcasing extraordinary craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
As you step aboard from the aft swim deck, you’re immediately greeted by a spacious main deck outdoor seating area, perfect for lounging and enjoying the open water. From here, you can either ascend to the upper deck or enter the main deck master cabin. Inside, you’ll find a cozy seating area complemented by a pull-out bed, offering a comfortable retreat.
Walking through the cabin, it’s impossible not to admire the stunning woodwork that graces every surface. The rich hardwood finishes create a warm, homely feel that flows seamlessly throughout the vessel. To your port side, you’ll find the first head, complete with a full bath setup, perfect for relaxation and convenience. Continuing forward, you’ll arrive at the central helm station, offering ample seating and a perfect view of the open sea.
Beyond the helm, there’s easy access to various parts of the boat: the galley and forward berths, the upper deck helm station and seating area, and below deck to the utility rooms, engine room, and staterooms.
Descending to the lower deck, you’ll notice the meticulous maintenance and care that keep this vessel looking as impressive as the day it was built. On the left, a well-appointed utility room features both a washer and dryer, making long trips that much more convenient. Moving forward, you’ll find a spacious head with a shower stall, perfectly placed for comfort.
To your right, facing forward, is the heart of the Eagle Nest II: the engine room. Here, you’ll find the powerful Twin D334 Detroit Diesels, housed in a large, accessible space that makes maintenance effortless. The engine room, like every part of this vessel, is meticulously cared for, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
As you continue towards the aft of the vessel, you’ll find a modest twin single stateroom on the port side, perfect for guests or crew. Further down the hall is the master double stateroom, a private sanctuary with all the comforts you need for restful nights on the water. Just beyond this, you’ll discover another storage room, which also provides access to the deep freezer and can be reached from the main deck cockpit.
Returning to the main saloon and heading up to the upper deck, you’ll be greeted by an open, expansive helm station, offering breathtaking views and the perfect vantage point for navigating the waters. The upper seating area is designed for both comfort and practicality, allowing the captain to be accompanied while taking in the panoramic surroundings. The Dinghy Davit Crane is easily accessible, making it a breeze to launch the Boston Whaler tender from the port side.
From the main saloon, you also have access to side doors leading to both the bow and aft deck areas, enhancing the flow and accessibility of the vessel. Stepping into the forward galley, you’ll find a spacious, well-equipped area for meal preparation, with plenty of room to move around. Further forward, down a short set of stairs, you’ll find a pair of twin single bunk staterooms one on the port side and one in the bow. These staterooms share a conveniently located head to starboard.
Eagle Nest II isn’t just a boat; it’s a luxury home on the water. Her ongoing maintenance and thoughtful upgrades ensure that she not only looks stunning but feels like a second home. She’s a vessel that makes a statement not just in design, but in the attention to detail and the care given to every aspect of her upkeep. Stepping aboard, it’s easy to see why lovers of the sea find it hard to leave her side. The Eagle Nest II is a rare gem, a boat that stands alone in both beauty and functionality.
